Had a lovely family birthday there. The food and service was very good. Would definitely go back.
We had a ball on auld years night and morning staff and DJ very good and so friendly could not ask for more..hot meal also very good had a choice of stew and chicken with potatoes and veg..very good...run out at one point but they filled it up straight away....we had a lot of fun and made a lot of new friends ....hope to go back to bring in 2020....thank you Gilvenbank hotel...
Staff couldn't do enough for us. Great food and location would certainly recommend this hotel.
Service was very slow . The food was good. Not as good as it was before. Don't think I will be going back anytime soon. I
I thought the family room was low standard. Place at the back of the hotel, you go up a flight of stairs, along a corridor and back down the stairs to get to room 20. Ironically, it's kitted out for wheelchair access with a disabled wet room. The lighting in the restroom is poor.The room itself has an old fashioned SD television, sofa bed and two single beds which are comfortable. The worst thing about the large room is that it is only heated by a storage heater which is not adequate to keep it warm all day in winter.
