Service was really good, settings within the restaurant was really nice with a lovely open fire . Only issue I had was portion size. I had ordered fish and chips...... the fish was a nice size, however only received a very small portion of chips and a meager dollop of mushy peas. Then to top it of a crumble of the day for pudding with a very small helping of custard.Too stingy for the price of the food.
I never had anything to eat but my friends did. There was only 2 staff on. They did their very best but there should gave been more staff on. The place was freezing cold, sat with coats on. Seemingly they are waiting for a part for the fire. Meals weren't up to much. 5.75 for glass of White zinfendel and (wait for it 3.55 for a wee bottle of coke!!!!! Outrageous.
Lovely ambiance but every time we've been there, they were missing something from the menu. However, if you can stick with what is available, then you'll have a nice time.
Nice place. Great grub. Ample parking. Stopped selling strongbow cider when an english pub chain took over, so I stopped going
This is a very nice place to come for a quiet drink. Cosy in winter, and with pleasant outside seating in summer, it justifies its relatively high drink prices. The food is typically very good, with an extensive menu. I have had a couple of poor meals at lunchtime, however, when the standard of food seems to slacken somewhat, but evening meals have always been fine, and whilst not cheap, offer good value for money.
